Attorney Information

Overview

Attorney Audrey Schechter has been practicing law for over three decades and is licensed in both Florida and New York. The lawyers, including Of-Counsel attorney Andrea Fischer, are litigation experts and we pride ourselves on taking cases through to a successful conclusion. We’ve settled numerous False Claims Act cases, successfully tried unintervened FCA cases to verdict, assisted the government with a wide variety of False Claims Act cases, defended trial court decisions and reversed summary judgments on appeal, and settled discrimination cases. Our active litigation and False Claims Act practice continues to focus on stopping fraudulent conduct and patient harm, and bringing the wrongdoers to justice, protecting and guiding our whistleblower clients as well as providing legal support to small businesses.

Audrey has been named as a Super Lawyer for the past 8 years. She is frequently asked to speak on issues concerning the False Claims Act and whistleblower rights.

The Firm specializes in whistleblower cases throughout the State of Florida and the entire country. Contact our trusted whistleblower attorneys today at 727-361-2772. We are eager to help you with your whistleblower case.

Some lawyers publish comparative information regarding the services that they provide which may be subject to specific comparative communications restrictions.

How do I choose a lawyer?

Consider the following:

  • Comfort Level – Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
  • Credentials – How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
  • Cost – How are the lawyer's fees structured — hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
  • City – Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?

Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?

Here are a few to get you started:

  • How long have you been in practice?
  • How many cases like mine have you handled?
  • How often do you settle cases out of court?
  • What are your fees and costs?
  • What are the next steps?

Want to check lawyer discipline?

It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:

  • Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
  • Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
  • Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
