Hired Law firm 2024-2025I would never recommend this law firm. I was in the middle of a wrongful deaths lawsuit with my mother. They allowed another family member to intentionally exclude my brother and I who were the true beneficiaries. And filed and accepted the falsified documents from another family member. And when we tried to call to rectify it they refused to talk to us when it was their duty to notify the true beneficiaries. In addition to this prior to them rejecting her phone calls they informed us Nancy informed us herself that she fixed the problem and made us so beneficiaries. Finding out later that's not something that she was able to do legally but she lied to us it told us that she had done that and we believed her. To the extent that is too late now for us to stop the process so the wrongful beneficiary is going to collect on $800,000 when the deceased children are not getting a dime because of this law firm. Don't trust them. When Nancy Alfonso herself lie to us about fixing the the problem of another family member about to find documents in the sole gain of being the sole beneficiary and listing us as unknown and when we contacted the law firm and talk to Jared and Nancy and gave them our information and told them about the deceit with the other family member they did nothing not only did they nothing they lied to us and said that they did fix the problem and had us listed as the beneficiaries. They're liars and they told us that they could not talk to us because we weren't clients when another lawyer told us that they are there for us to help us file anything necessary we need and to make sure that the personal representative did her job and not misrepresent us and it was her job to make sure we had notices of everything pending to the case we never got one notice we never got one phone call returned. They're unethical unprofessional and they will lie. It was horrible experience what was done to us my brother and I our mother died and another family member lied about us and Nancy Alfonso's law firm went along with them just because it was the last mitigation and they wanted their money. Horrible horrible people.

How do I choose a lawyer?
Consider the following:
- Comfort Level – Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
- Credentials – How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
- Cost – How are the lawyer's fees structured — hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
- City – Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?
Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?
Here are a few to get you started:
- How long have you been in practice?
- How many cases like mine have you handled?
- How often do you settle cases out of court?
- What are your fees and costs?
- What are the next steps?
Want to check lawyer discipline?
It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:
- Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
- Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
- Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
