David Hugo Villalobos - Davie, FL

Dave was born and raised in Westfield, New Jersey, where he grew up playing soccer almost every day. After graduating from Rutgers University with a B.A. in English and a concentration in Film Studies, he was a New York based professional actor for about thirteen years. He then moved to Cali, Colombia to get more in touch with his roots there, enjoying local delicacies like chontaduro and champus, while teaching English as foreign language. He moved to Florida in 2014 and got a scholarship to study Spanish Linguistics at UCF, where he got an M.A. while teaching Spanish to undergraduates. He is fluent in Spanish.

The last stop on his educational journey was Florida International University College of Law, where he achieved the highest grade in six classes: Legal Skills and Values I and III, Criminal Procedure: Investigation, Professional Responsibility, Products Liability, and Sales. He enjoyed taking trial advocacy classes and in his 3L year got the opportunity to compete in the Texas Young Lawyers Association National Trial Competition with the FIU Trial Team.

After graduating seventh in his class at FIU Law in 2019, Dave worked for several years practicing first party property insurance defense litigation, probate/trust litigation, and commercial litigation. Now working as a personal injury attorney for plaintiffs, he has found his calling in fighting for injured people with a focus on auto accidents and premises liability. Dave is licensed in Florida state courts, the United States District Court for the Southern District of Florida, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit. Recently he has enjoyed getting involved in and taking advantage of the many opportunities at the Broward County Bar Association. When not practicing law, Dave enjoys playing soccer with his nephew, watching NBA games, and binge-watching shows.
