Overview

Born and raised in Ormond Beach, Florida, Nika Hosseini attended the University of Miami after graduating from Spruce Creek High School's International Baccalaureate program. During her time at the University of Miami, Ms. Hosseini served as Executive Chair of the student government's Energy and Conservation Organization, was recognized as the recipient of the Coral Gables Chamber of Commerce Outstanding Green Student Leader award, and was tapped into Iron Arrow Honor Society, the highest attainable honor at the University of Miami. After graduating Cum Laude and with departmental honors in Ecosystem Science and Policy, Ms. Hosseini enrolled at the University of Florida Levin College of Law. In law school, Ms. Hosseini served as Co-Chair of the Public Interest Environmental Conference and as Fundraising Chair of the Environmental and Land Use Law Society. Ms. Hosseini was also a Student Associate in the Conservation Clinic where she assisted clients with land use and environmental matters in Gainesville, Florida. Ms. Hosseini was awarded the Book Award in the Conservation Clinic in recognition of achieving the highest grade. Ms. Hosseini has been the recipient of two fellowships including the University of Florida Levin College of Law Public Interest fellowship and the Association for Public Interest Law fellowship. Ms. Hosseini spent her law school summers working in Washington, D.C. for the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency as an Honors Law Clerk, the U.S. Green Building Council as a Federal Policy Intern, and in Jacksonville, Florida at the Florida Department of Environmental Protection as a Legal Intern. Ms. Hosseini graduated Cum Laude from the University of Florida Levin College of Law, with a certificate in Environmental, Land Use, and Real Estate Law.

Ms. Hosseini is currently an associate in the Cobb Cole DeLand office specializing in land use and environmental law. More specifically, she focuses on property matters ranging from variances, special exceptions, easements, and code enforcement matters to assisting in entitlement work and community development district work for large master planned developments. Nika represents clients through such processes in a myriad of local government jurisdictions and in front of various types of boards.

In her free time, Nika enjoys working on her foundation, which provides accessible and clean drinking water to villages throughout Uganda, as well as providing pro-bono work to non-profit organizations throughout the state involved in eradicating hunger and homelessness. She also enjoys spending quality time with her large family, traveling the world, and petting every dog she comes across.
