Attorney Information

Overview

Mrs. Morgan Paul has over 20 years of experience representing insurers, corporations, and individuals in pre-suit and litigation matters throughout Florida. Her practice focuses primarily on insurance defense, as well as equine matters and animal law.

Her insurance defense practice includes property damage, premises liability, commercial and general liability, coverage disputes, and high exposure matters. She has extensive experience managing cases from initial investigation through trial. She works closely with claims professionals to develop strategic litigation plans, evaluate exposure and efficiently resolve disputes.

Her practice is further distinguished by her work in animal law and equine law, including representing clients in disputes arising from horse sales, entity and syndicate formation, contracts, Safe Sport matters, liability issues, liens, insurance coverage evaluation and business transactions. Her knowledge in this field is bolstered by her firsthand experience as an avid lifelong horsewoman and rider. Having competed through the Intermediate/FEI 2* level of eventing as an adult amateur, her combined equine legal and personal backgrounds offer an elevated understanding of equine-related disputes. Her familiarity with the customs, practices and professional relationships within the equestrian industry allows her to approach each equine matter with valuable experience and practical perspective.

Mrs. Morgan Paul is a member of the Florida Property and Casualty Task Force. Mrs. Morgan Paul has presented as a speaker at the Florida Insurance Fraud Education Committee (“FIFEC”) conference, as well as Florida Liability Claims Conference (“FLCC”). Mrs. Morgan Paul is a graduate of Leadership Daytona and served as a past two-term board member of the Florida Defense Lawyers’ Association.

Mrs. Morgan Paul received her Juris Doctorate in 2004 from Stetson University College of Law. How do I choose a lawyer?

Consider the following:

  • Comfort Level – Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
  • Credentials – How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
  • Cost – How are the lawyer's fees structured — hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
  • City – Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?

Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?

Here are a few to get you started:

  • How long have you been in practice?
  • How many cases like mine have you handled?
  • How often do you settle cases out of court?
  • What are your fees and costs?
  • What are the next steps?

Want to check lawyer discipline?

It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:

  • Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
  • Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
  • Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
