Overview

Brian K. Mathis is the founder and managing attorney of Mathis Law Group, a Florida firm with a national transportation practice. Brian is an experienced business law and commercial litigation attorney specializing in the transportation and logistics industry. He serves as outside general counsel and U.S. counsel for several national and multinational transportation companies, respectively, and has extensive experience representing clients with regulatory compliance, business transactions, mergers and acquisitions, commercial contracting, labor and employment, insurance coverage structures, business structuring and asset protection, commercial and civil litigation, cargo and freight claims, broker and intermediary liability, and defense of third party liability claims.

Brian understands the nature of business and transportation risks and incorporates a thoughtful, innovative approach to finding and developing bold business and legal solutions for his clients. More importantly, he is able to connect with clients on a personal level, providing trustworthy business and legal advice with a candid and realistic assessment of a client’s matter. Brian is proud to provide sophisticated representation to assist clients with achieving their business goals and resolving practical challenges.

Prior to embarking on his legal career, Brian served in the United States Air Force as an airborne radar technician in the 552nd Operations Group, a battle management, command and control unit at Tinker Air Force Base, Oklahoma. Following his service, he worked as an accountant with the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma until his admission to the University of Florida Levin College of Law. When he’s not working, Brian enjoys spending time with his wife, four children, and grandchild. He also enjoys traveling, reading, hiking, and muay thai.
