She received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Legal Studies from Florida Gulf Coast University, cum laude. Mrs. Lopez obtained her Juris Doctorate degree from Ave Maria School of Law. While in law school, she received the book award for Research, Writing, and Advocacy. Additionally, Mrs. Lopez was the recipient of the Dean's Scholarship. She served as an Associate Editor and Executive Articles Editor on the Ave Maria Law Review. She was also a member and the Mentor Chair of the Women's Law Association. During her time in law school, she was a judicial intern for the honorable Sherri Chappell in the United States Middle District Court.
Prior to joining Morgan and Morgan, Mrs. Lopez served as an Assistant State Attorney for the Twentieth Judicial Circuit. Thereafter, Mrs. Lopez focused her practice in insurance defense cases involving personal injury and wrongful death.
