Hired Attorney 2024Hired this attorney, with Morgan and Morgan, for a worker’s comp case to ensure my best interests were protected. Monetary settlements are limited but main focus was to ensure I received the best options for my injury treatment under WC’s benefits or with outside care management. This attorney FAILED to ensure I was provided ALL critical information I needed to verbally enter into a settlement agreement, then refused to work to get me out of it once those details were presented to me once I was to sign the final written paperwork, by filing a motion to dismiss herself from my case! She abandons me then, insult to injury, files a motion to still receive her FULL fee with the court after quitting her job. She claimed she worked hard on my case and I’m here to share the facts that she did NOT. In the end, I was left to to do (on my own after she quit) what she was expected to do but she still got a full paycheck. This law firm and attorney is a sham. Do not go by reviews on their website. Read reviews from Google, Yelp, and other avenues because they are not restricted to just the unrealistic positive only accounts of this law firm. I learned that, if I ever need another Worker’s Comp attorney it won’t be any of them at Morgan and Morgan but rather an Actual Board Certified Worker’s Comp Attorney. Shameful practice by this attorney and firm that I feel is important to share.

How do I choose a lawyer?
Consider the following:
- Comfort Level – Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
- Credentials – How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
- Cost – How are the lawyer's fees structured — hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
- City – Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?
Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?
Here are a few to get you started:
- How long have you been in practice?
- How many cases like mine have you handled?
- How often do you settle cases out of court?
- What are your fees and costs?
- What are the next steps?
Want to check lawyer discipline?
It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:
- Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
- Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
- Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
