Attorney Information
Overview
Christopher (“Chris”) M. Wittbrodt is an experienced litigator whose practice focuses on business and commercial litigation in Florida’s state and federal courts. He represents businesses and individuals in matters involving breach of contract, construction defects, commercial landlord-tenant disputes, post-judgment collections, fraudulent misrepresentation, and injunctive relief. Chris is known for his practical and strategic approach to resolving disputes—whether through litigation, negotiation, or alternative dispute resolution.
Before joining Lesak, Hamilton, Calhoun & Pontieri, Chris handled complex commercial cases at a Jacksonville-based litigation firm where he represented clients in high-stakes matters involving millions of dollars in potential exposure. He has litigated cases involving construction delays and defects, personal injury, fraud, and contract disputes, and has experience representing both plaintiffs and defendants in all stages of litigation.
Earlier in his career, Chris practiced at a national insurance defense firm, defending corporate clients in cases involving wrongful death, premises liability, medical malpractice, automobile negligence, and property damage. Prior to that, he worked as a compliance analyst at a global investment bank, conducting international anti-money laundering investigations. That experience provided valuable insight into corporate governance, internal controls, and risk management—knowledge he now applies to help clients navigate legal risk in regulated industries.
Chris earned his Juris Doctor from the University of Florida Levin College of Law, where he was an award-winning oral advocate and member of the Florida Moot Court Team. He also earned national recognition as best advocate during his time on the Phi Alpha Delta Mock Trial Team and later served as a coach for aspiring trial lawyers. He graduated cum laude from Flagler College with a B.A. in Psychology and is a member of the Psi Chi Honor Society.
Having spent many of his formative years in the Midwest and Southwest, Chris moved to Jacksonville in 2018 and quickly developed an appreciation for the region’s natural beauty and vibrant local culture. Outside of the office, he enjoys spending time with his wife, Megan, exploring new restaurants, playing guitar, and catering to the whims of their two beloved rabbits, Luna and Vinnie.

How do I choose a lawyer?
Consider the following:
- Comfort Level – Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
- Credentials – How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
- Cost – How are the lawyer's fees structured — hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
- City – Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?
Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?
Here are a few to get you started:
- How long have you been in practice?
- How many cases like mine have you handled?
- How often do you settle cases out of court?
- What are your fees and costs?
- What are the next steps?
Want to check lawyer discipline?
It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:
- Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
- Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
- Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
