Attorney Information
Overview
Ramil Kaminsky is the Founder and Managing Partner of RAK Law, where he leads a highly skilled team experienced in all aspects of pre-suit and post-litigation matters. With extensive experience, Mr. Kaminsky has managed over 600 cases, consistently achieving favorable outcomes for his clients in areas such as complex business litigation, first-party property disputes, and construction law. He has also handled appeals on these issues, leveraging the appellate process to create influential case law and shape legal precedent.
As a first-generation American, Mr. Kaminsky is the son of Jewish Uzbek immigrants who fled the Soviet Union to escape religious persecution. Raised in Brighton Beach, NY—nicknamed “Little Moscow”—he learned firsthand the value of freedom and the American dream. Unlike many Jewish parents at the time who primarily encouraged their children to pursue careers in medicine, Mr. Kaminsky’s parents gave him the freedom to choose between becoming a doctor, lawyer, or accountant.
Mr. Kaminsky moved to Tampa, Florida, during high school and graduated from Freedom High School. He continued his education locally, attending the Honors College at the University of South Florida (USF), where he earned dual degrees in Psychology and Biomedical Sciences. He then pursued his legal education at Stetson University College of Law, where he earned his Juris Doctor. During his time at Stetson, Mr. Kaminsky was deeply involved in student leadership, serving as President of the Calvin A. Kuenzel Student Bar Association and the Jewish Law Student Association. He also gained valuable experience as a certified legal intern for the Office of the State’s Attorney, a law clerk, and through internships with the Florida Attorney General’s Office and other organizations.
In 2013, after graduating from law school, Mr. Kaminsky began his legal career at QBWB, where he defended nursing homes against claims of abuse and neglect. A few years later, he received a rare opportunity to work in-house at Avatar Insurance, where he helped establish their in-house counsel department. During his time there, Mr. Kaminsky developed processes to streamline claims, managed all active litigation, and oversaw the company’s contracts and litigation department.
He later moved to Orlando to work in-house for a statewide roofing and restoration company, where he played a key role in developing, growing, and streamlining their first-party claims. In addition to managing legal matters, he oversaw various aspects of the business and contributed to its growth. Tragically, the company owner and Mr. Kaminsky’s close friend passed away, which led him to establish RAK Law in 2019. Since then, contractors, roofers, and business owners have consistently sought him out for general counsel.
His firm has since grown, and he regularly educates his clients and their teams on legal compliance. A strong believer in honesty and transparency, which is why he believes the law is best practiced when clients understand all their options—“the good, the bad, and the ugly.” His motto, “I’m not here to sell you dreams but to provide the reality,” reflects his commitment to providing candid advice. As both a licensed attorney and small business owner, Mr. Kaminsky brings a unique perspective that allows him to truly understand the needs of his clients.
