Attorney Information
Overview
Alexandra Beitra, Esquire is an associate attorney at Jeffrey Law, where she focuses her practice on complex marital and family law litigation, including dissolution of marriage, paternity, equitable distribution, parental responsibility matters, and prenuptial agreements. Ms. Beitra is dedicated to protecting her clients’ interests and guiding them through some of the most challenging times in their lives with clarity, preparation, and a steady approach.
A lifelong Florida resident, Ms. Beitra earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science, magna cum laude, from Florida International University. She went on to receive her Juris Doctor from St. Thomas University School of Law, where she served as an intern with the Federal Public Defender’s Office for the Southern District of Florida, a highly selective position that allowed her to gain valuable federal courtroom experience early in her career, and as a Judicial Intern to the Honorable Milton Hirsch of the Eleventh Judicial Circuit for two semesters. Ms. Beitra was also the recipient of the Book Award in both Conflicts of Law and Pre-Trial Litigation, honoring her for having the best grade in each course.
Ms. Beitra’s legal experience began long before she attended law school. She worked for many years as a legal assistant and paralegal in law firms practicing in a wide range of areas, including civil litigation and union-side labor law. Having served in nearly every role within a law firm, she brings a comprehensive understanding of the legal process and a strong work ethic to her practice. Before focusing her practice exclusively on family law, Ms. Beitra practiced real estate law, representing mortgage servicers in residential and commercial foreclosure litigation.
Outside of her practice, Ms. Beitra enjoys spending time with her husband, a first responder, their son, and her stepchildren. She often spends her weekends at the baseball park or taking advantage of Florida’s outdoor lifestyle.

How do I choose a lawyer?
Consider the following:
- Comfort Level – Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
- Credentials – How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
- Cost – How are the lawyer's fees structured — hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
- City – Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?
Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?
Here are a few to get you started:
- How long have you been in practice?
- How many cases like mine have you handled?
- How often do you settle cases out of court?
- What are your fees and costs?
- What are the next steps?
Want to check lawyer discipline?
It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:
- Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
- Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
- Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
