Attorney Information
Overview
Attorney Jennifer was born in Puerto Rico and is proficient in both English and Spanish. She obtained her bachelor’s degree from the University of Puerto Rico (2013) and a master’s degree from the Metropolitan University in Puerto Rico (2016). In 2021, she obtained her Juris Doctor from Barry University School of Law in Orlando, Florida.
With a background in business administration, her initial goal in law school was to focus on business law. However, due to the complicated immigration climate, she decided to learn more about immigration law while pursuing her degree. This resulted in a shift to her focus where her passion for helping those in need pointed her to this path. During her last two semesters in law school, she became a part of the school’s immigration clinic helping clients with their asylum applications before the Immigration Court and petitions before the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services.
After graduating, Jennnifer continued to work with the immigration community gaining valuable experience by representing clients nationwide before the immigration court (EOIR), the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) and Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). Through her work she has gained relief for her clients, successfully defending them in asylum claims, cancellation of removal, family-based petitions, custody redetermination hearings, and more.
Attorney Jennifer is a licensed attorney in Florida. Currently a member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA) and the AILA Central Florida Chapter.

How do I choose a lawyer?
Consider the following:
- Comfort Level – Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
- Credentials – How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
- Cost – How are the lawyer's fees structured — hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
- City – Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?
Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?
Here are a few to get you started:
- How long have you been in practice?
- How many cases like mine have you handled?
- How often do you settle cases out of court?
- What are your fees and costs?
- What are the next steps?
Want to check lawyer discipline?
It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:
- Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
- Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
- Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
