Overview

Mr. Jesse Philippe-Auguste, Esq., attended Salmon P. Chase College of Law. While at Chase, Jesse excelled in advocacy and achieved numerous accolades, most notably finishing as a top three finalist in the school's Moot Court competition for first-year law students, competing as a member of the Black Law Students Association Mock Trial Team, the National Mock Trial Team, and the National Moot Court Board. While competing with the National Mock Trial Team, his team finished among the top 10 law schools in the country in the prestigious South Texas College of Law Mock Trial Challenge.

While in law school, Jesse was very active. In addition to being a member of competition teams, he also held several leadership roles. He was twice voted by his peers to serve as Secretary of the Student Bar Association and President of the Black Law Student Association. Additionally, Jesse clerked with prestigious law firms, a Fortune 500 company, and was named to the Dean's List all while working part-time at the law school library. Finally, Jesse volunteered at the Uncontested Divorce Clinic, a program sponsored by Chase College of Law and the Legal Aid Society of Greater Cincinnati. There he assisted and represented those with low economic means with filing divorce.

Jesse demonstrated a knack for litigation long before law school. While in high school at Miami Killian Senior High School, Jesse took part in a mock trial during a legal oriented elective course. Jesse's interest in law continued when he attended Florida State University. While in college, Jesse was very active with Phi Alpha Delta, a Pre-Law fraternity, where he successfully competed in numerous Mock Trial competitions and served as Mock Trial Chair. When competing, Jesse won multiple "Best Attorney" awards and at a young age demonstrated strong advocacy skills.

As an attorney, Jesse has argued before courts in the 11th and 17th Circuits. He has also written appellate briefs for matters in the 2nd and 5th District Courts of Appeals.

Jesse is an AV Rated Preeminent Attorney with years of experience practicing in family law. He has experience in very litigious and contentious matters in family law.

Jesse can serve as a tremendous asset to clients. He brings a tireless work ethic and a strong desire to help others.

When not practicing law, Jesse enjoys working out, listening to music, watching college football, and watching shows on Netflix.

Some lawyers publish comparative information regarding the services that they provide which may be subject to specific comparative communications restrictions.

How do I choose a lawyer?

Consider the following:

  • Comfort Level – Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
  • Credentials – How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
  • Cost – How are the lawyer's fees structured — hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
  • City – Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?

Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?

Here are a few to get you started:

  • How long have you been in practice?
  • How many cases like mine have you handled?
  • How often do you settle cases out of court?
  • What are your fees and costs?
  • What are the next steps?

Want to check lawyer discipline?

It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:

  • Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
  • Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
  • Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
