Miami Immigration Law Lawyer

Overview

My name is Sandra Echevarria. I have been practicing law since January 2005. I graduated Magna Cum laude from Nova Southeastern University, Shepard Broad Law Center in 2004. I graduated Cum Laude from FIU with a Bachelor’s Degree in Liberal Studies. I have always focused on Immigration and Nationality Law since I started to practice law in early 2005. I opened my own practice in 2008, and I focus on all aspects of Immigration Law. I have been successful because I work tirelessly to help my clients. My first case, was the case of my father who raised me, and I was able to successfully win his case. After living first hand what so many Immigrant families have to go through, I understand all of the issues and emotions that surround the process and what it takes to be successful. Since my win, I have dedicated my life to Immigration Law. I have been practicing since 2005. I work with my family and amazing attorneys and staff members that are like family to me. We all try to do our best to get the job done. I work relentlessly to get the work done.

Throughout the years, I have defended hundreds of cases, have helped countless clients, and I am proud to say that the vast majority of my clients are still here and are now legal. We focus on immigration defense and immigration consequences of criminal behavior. I have helped consulates from various countries and non-profit organizations help Immigrants in our community. I have travelled across the state with Consulates to speak to their constituents about immigration law and what their legal rights are. I have won awards from the City of Miami’s Mayor for my extraordinary conduct as a citizen and for my genuine dedication that has enriched the well-being and prosperity of City of Miami. I was also awarded the Honorable Award of Dominican Excellence the Most Highest Distinction of Merit for Dominicans in the United States for my professional dedication and dignified representation as a person of Dominican Descent in the U.S. This is awarded by the Minister of Tourism and the Dominican Consulate in the U.S. on behalf of the Dominican Republic for my professional help in our community. I have been a part of the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA) for over 17 years and have been part of various pro bono Committees. I am also part of the AILA South Florida Chapter and have been a board member.

How do I choose a lawyer?

Consider the following:

Comfort Level
- Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?

Credentials
- How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?

Cost
- How are the lawyer's fees structured - hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?

City
- Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?

Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?

Here are a few to get you started:

  • How long have you been in practice?
  • How many cases like mine have you handled?
  • How often do you settle cases out of court?
  • What are your fees and costs?
  • What are the next steps?

Want to check lawyer discipline?

It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:

  • Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
  • Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
  • Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
