    Hired Law firm 2024-2025
I had hired Mr Rock to represent me in a Chapter 7 bankruptcy case. I paid him in full a head of time and he did not represent me. Back in 2021 I was diagnosed with heart failure and placed on the heart transplant list. At this time I gave my step son all the rights to the rifles that we had had bc the chances of receiving a heart were poor. I came down as a last ditch chance for a 3 opinion in 2024 and had my surgery here in Florida. At that time, I had lost everything including my truck, my home and my relationship of almost 12 years. I met with Mr Rock and right off the bat I was referred to as a "non-Christian", even though this man didn't know me from Adam. The fun didn't stop there, I was referred to as "boy" and many other slangs being almost 52. On several occasions I had to go back into his office because Mr Rock and his front desk help were unable to communicate between the wall barrier! Let's just say 7 times! 7 times things had to be fixed! He complained to me on several occasions that the money he charges wasn't enough, go figure. On my 2nd meeting with the creditors, he didn't even show up! So, do yourself the favor and do it yourself or find an actual attorney who will stand and fight for you and not sit behind his desk with a napkin tucked inside his shirt!

How do I choose a lawyer?

Consider the following:

  • Comfort Level – Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
  • Credentials – How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
  • Cost – How are the lawyer's fees structured — hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
  • City – Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?

Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?

Here are a few to get you started:

  • How long have you been in practice?
  • How many cases like mine have you handled?
  • How often do you settle cases out of court?
  • What are your fees and costs?
  • What are the next steps?

Want to check lawyer discipline?

It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:

  • Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
  • Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
  • Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
