Overview
Dave Blake is an aggressive and committed trial attorney who concentrates his efforts in personal injury, wrongful death and police misconduct litigation. His passion for his clients extends far beyond the realm of the cases he tries-he takes each case personally and ensures that his clients are provided for in every way possible.
Dave brings a wealth of hard-edged courtroom experience and a unique skill set to Romano Law, PLLC. Having excelled in national moot court and mock trial programs during his time in law school, Dave was destined to utilize his skills for the betterment of his wrongfully injured clients.
Early in his career, Dave gained invaluable courtroom experience while working as an Assistant State Attorney. During his time as a prosecutor, he tried in excess of 40 cases to jury verdict. More importantly, he became intimately familiar with law enforcement training techniques, use of force procedure and protocol, and related law enforcement practices.
Following his tenure as a prosecutor, Dave spent time as a litigation associate in law firms representing some of America's largest corporations and manufacturers in complex litigation matters throughout the United States. It was during this time that Dave made the decision that his true passion was in the courtroom-representing clients who have been the victims of negligent acts and wrongful conduct of others.
In addition to maintaining an active caseload, Dave is an active member of the Michigan Association of Justice and serves indigent clients as a pro bono attorney for the Michigan Legal Aid and Defenders Association. As a recent testament to his trial abilities and legal acumen, Dave was recently named a 2012 Michigan Super Lawyers Rising Star. This distinction is based entirely on peer review and is an honor bestowed on less than 2.5 percent of all lawyers under the age of 40 in the United States.
Dave is admitted to practice in all State Courts in Michigan and Florida, the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan, the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Michigan, the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit.
Dave resides with his wife and daughters in metro Detroit.
