Mark J. Kovack is a Senior Attorney with Urban Thier & Federer, P.A. He is based out of the Connecticut office.
Mr. Kovack's practice focuses primarily on civil litigation including commercial and business litigation, construction litigation, personal injury law, products liability, real estate litigation, employment law, alternative dispute resolution (including arbitration and mediation), landlord-tenant/housing litigation (commercial and residential), probate litigation, and appeals.
Mr. Kovack is a member of the Connecticut Bar, the New York Bar, the federal United States Second Circuit Court of Appeals, and the bar of the United States District Court for the District of Connecticut. Mr. Kovack serves as a court appointed "Special Master" to mediate disputes in litigation and offers alternative dispute resolution (ADR) services as an arbitrator and mediator. Mr. Kovack has extensive arbitration training with the International Institute for Conflict Prevention and Resolution and is able to serve as an arbitrator and mediator for domestic and international matters.
He has been added as of October 2016 to the list of court appointed animal advocates as part of Connecticut's new law (effective 10/1/16) permitting superior court judges to appoint volunteers to act as advocates for the interest of justice in certain proceedings involving animals.
He is a member of the Connecticut Trial Lawyers Association, a group of trial lawyers representing plaintiffs in personal injury, product liability and malpractice actions. Mr. Kovack is also a Board Member, Executive Committee member and the Secretary of the Danbury Westerners Baseball Club, Inc., a 501 (c)(3) corporation which operates the Danbury Westerners collegiate baseball team in the New England Collegiate Baseball League.
