William D. Bates was born and raised in Orlando, FL. Mr. Bates grew up in a legal family: his grandfather, Dick Bates, was general counsel at Orlando Regional Medical Center and his father, H. Scott Bates, and brother, Rick Bates, are medical malpractice lawyers at Morgan & Morgan.

Mr. Bates graduated from the University of Florida with a BA in Political Science and continued his education at the University of Florida Levin College of Law, where he graduated with a Juris Doctorate and was a member of the Dean's list.

Mr. Bates began his career with Morgan & Morgan in the runner's room at the age of 16. He then spent summers throughout college and law school as a legal intern for the firm.

Today, he handles Personal Injury and Premises Liability cases and is proud to practice alongside his father and brother.
