Overview
William Colby Roof is a practicing estate planning attorney and experienced, fourth-generation trial litigator practicing in the areas of probate, trust, and guardianship dispute litigation, as well as will, probate, trust, and guardianship administration.
William’s goal is to provide peace of mind for clients who seek estate planning, probate, trust, and guardianship services by anticipating the disputes and issues that may arise long before they actually do. And when disputes do arise, William will fearlessly go to battle for his clients.
William received his bachelor’s degree from Florida State University, and both his JD and MBA with from the University of Florida—all with cum laude Honors. During law school, he was a member and officer of UF Law’s Trial Team, a member and editor of the Journal of Technology Law & Policy, and a member of the Business Moot Court team.
William has practiced at one of the nation’s largest civil, jury trial law firms where he took lawsuits all the way to jury verdicts. He has also practiced for a specialist law firm that negotiated and handled eight-figure disputes for one of the nation’s largest multinational general contractors. Over the course of his career, William has negotiated hundreds of settlement contracts and recovered more than $18 million for his clients.
William has represented clients in at least fourteen Florida courts, as well as the federal courts in Ocala and Orlando, Florida. The Florida Estate Firm is dedicated to helping Orlando and other Central Florida residents with their estate planning needs, as well as the needs of those facing probate, trust, or guardianship dispute litigation or uncontested administration.
