Overview
Cliff Higby previously served as the managing partner at the law firm of Bryant, Higby & Barr in Panama City, Florida, where he practiced from 1991 until August 2022, when he and Kevin Barr joined Walborsky Bradley & Fleming, PLLC.
Cliff graduated from Vanderbilt University in 1985 and the University of Florida Law Schol (JD 1988). He spent his first 3 years of practice in Jacksonville, Florida with the law firm of Marks Gray before returning to Panama City where he was born and raised.
Cliff is in his 36th year of practice, and his focus is exclusively Civil Trial practice in Trial and Appellate courts, primarily on behalf of plaintiffs. His primary areas of practice include personal injury, wrongful death, medical negligence, insurance litigation, motor vehicle accidents, premises liability, municipal liability, and products liability. Cliff is admitted to the Florida Bar, and admitted to practice in the US District Courts for the Northern and Middle Districts of Florida, the US Court of Appeals for the 11th Circuit, and the United States Supreme Court. Mr. Higby has tried numerous Civil Jury Trials in State and Federal Court as lead or co-counsel, and has participated as lead or co-counsel in over 60 Appeals in the Appellate courts for the State of Florida and the United States Court of Appeals for the 11th Circuit.
Mr. Higby was AV rated by Martindale Hubbell since 2003 and has handled cases throughout Florida, as well as Georgia, Alabama, and South Carolina.
Cliff is the past President (2003-2004) of the St. Andrews Bay American Inn of Court. He was a Member of the Executive Committee for the Trial Lawyer Section of The Florida Bar from 2001-2013, and served as Chair of the organization for the statewide section from 2010-2011.
Cliff served on the Board of Governors for the Florida Bar from 2019-2024, and was a member of numerous committees for The Florida Bar which governs and regulates Florida's 100,000 plus practicing lawyers.
Cliff is married and he and his wife , Susan, have two daughters. Lynne is a double Gator having gone to undergraduate and Law School at the University of Florida. She lives and works in California as a Director of Business Affairs in the entertainment industry. Mary attended the University of Georga as an undergraduate, then graduate nursing school at Vanderbilt University where she became a Women's Health Care Nurse Practitioner. Since graduation, she lives and works in the Atlanta-Gainesville , Georgia area. When time permits, Cliff enjoys golf, college athletics, travel, and the mountains of North Carolina with his family.
Continuing Legal Education
Has complied with Florida Law requiring 90 hours every 2 years. Mr. Higby was an instructor and faculty member for the Florida Bar Advanced Trial Advocacy Seminar (2010-2016) held each spring at the University of Florida Law School.
