Attorney Information

Overview

The protections enumerated in the Bill of Rights are our most valuable birthright and Joe Concepción will zealously defend yours. A former prosecutor and law enforcement academy instructor, he is armed with over 22 years of courtroom experience. Despite his prosecutorial experience, he is happiest protecting the rights of the accused. He has done so for the majority of his career and will ensure that you receive the most effective criminal defense possible.

Joe Concepción completed the Honors Program at the University of Miami, graduating in 1996, and received his Juris Doctor from Nova Southeastern University Shepard Broad Law Center in 1999. He began his career in insurance defense and soon realized that he belongs in a courtroom, representing clients daily and appearing frequently before a judge and jury. He gained invaluable courtroom experience and insights over eleven years as an Assistant Public Defender and knows how prosecutors think and prepare as a result of his seven years as an Assistant State Attorney. In addition to his government service, Mr. Concepción has represented clients in criminal matters throughout Central and South Florida while working as an associate in private law firms.

An aggressive and knowledgeable Central Florida criminal defense lawyer, Joe has taken nearly 200 cases to trial and litigated scores of other motions before the court. His approach to case management has yielded successful results in all manner of cases including capital sexual offenses, homicide, drug trafficking, juvenile offenses, and DUI. Having spent the majority of his career as a Central Florida criminal defense attorney, he is familiar with big city courtrooms due to his experience in Miami, Tampa, and Orlando as well as smaller and more rural jurisdictions. He understands that not every criminal case ends at the trial level and has extensive experience in post-conviction and appellate matters as well as extraordinary writs, ensuring a comprehensive approach to protecting your rights and always keeping the government on the defense. Joe brings his knowledge and litigation experience to other civil or family matters on a case-by-case basis.

Born to a Hispanic family and raised in Miami, Mr. Concepción prides himself on his ability to represent Spanish-speaking clients directly, communicating directly and relating to their experience without the need for an interpreter.
