Overview
Iguna Varslavane-Callahan was born in Riga, Latvia. After graduating from a high-school with specialization in mathematics and physics, she began her college education at the University of Latvia where she graduated with a bachelor degree in English as a foreign language. She had the exciting opportunity to participate in the re-building of the post-communist Latvia's judicial and legal systems through her work as a translator for the American Bar Association's CEELI Initiative and the Latvian government. She also co-authored the first Latvian-English-Latvian dictionary of legal terms. With this interest in legal and international issues, she entered the Florida State University where she graduated with distinction with a master's degree in international affairs. She continued her education at the Florida State University College of Law.
Inguna Varslavane-Callahan is fluent in Latvian and Russian, with intemediate level knowlege of German and French. She also has an interest in computers that she fulfills by taking college level classes in programming and information systems.
