Thomas E. Weiksnar - Stuart, FL

Tom is a Senior Attorney at Block & Scarpa and is a member of the Estate Planning and Probate Department. Tom holds a Masters Degree in Taxation from the University of Florida, Levin College of Law (L.L.M.). Tom's practice focuses on estate planning, probate administration and guardianship law. Tom is based in Stuart, Florida where he has been a resident for over 25 years.

Prior to joining Block & Scarpa, Tom led the Probate and Guardianship department at a major litigation firm where he helped families with estate planning and administered hundreds of probate estates and guardianships throughout the state of Florida. Tom Worked with litigation attorneys to finalize and apportion settlements of all kinds, obtaining court approval where required.

Tom is originally from Grosse Pointe, Michigan and graduated from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, with a B.A. in economics. Tom is a member of the Florida Bar Association, the Martin County Bar Association and a member of the Martin County Estate Planning Council and has lectured at the National Bar Association on topics including the Taxation of Settlements and the Differences in Distribution Under The Florida Probate Code v. The Florida Wrongful Death Act.

Tom is active in the Stuart community and serves on the Parent Advisory Board for the United States Sailing Center of Martin County (USSCMC) and is active in Boy Scouts, currently serving as Scoutmaster for his local troop. Tom is also a merit badge counselor and enjoys teaching archery, shooting, sailing and biking merit badge classes. Tom has previously served on the board of his church, The United Way of Martin County, and Martin Volunteers. Tom volunteers at several regattas throughout the year at the USSCMC. Tom is married and has two daughters and two sons and his children have earned their Gold Awards and Eagle Awards, respectively, in scouting.
