Attorney Information

Overview

Kathryn Piscitelli brings over 40 years of knowledge and experience in labor and employment law to our firm. Ms. Piscitelli’s litigation experience is wide-ranging, including cases involving claims of race discrimination, sex discrimination, disability discrimination, age discrimination, retaliation for whistleblowing, and violations of veterans’ and servicemembers’ job rights. She is board certified by the Florida Bar in labor and employment law. Ms. Piscitelli is a past Chair of the Florida Bar’s Labor and Employment Law Certification Committee. She is an active member of the national and Florida chapters of the National Employment Lawyers Association (NELA) and has served on the executive board of Florida NELA. Ms. Piscitelli was selected to the Florida Super Lawyers list 2012-2025.

Ms. Piscitelli has taken a special interest in the civilian job rights of veterans and servicemembers under the Uniformed Services Employment and Reemployment Rights Act—best known as USERRA. She is the co-author (with Edward Still) of a treatise on USERRA, The USERRA Manual: Uniformed Services Employment & Reemployment Rights (Thomson Reuters 2025) (and all prior editions). The book was first published in 2008, and a new edition has been published annually since then. Ms. Piscitelli has served as a USERRA advisor to NELA and worked on legislation to improve the rights of veterans and servicemembers under USERRA. In 2004, Ms. Piscitelli chaired a NELA task force that submitted comments to the Department of Labor on then-proposed USERRA regulations. She has spoken on USERRA at numerous continuing legal education programs, including seminars sponsored by the Florida Bar, the American Bar Association, NELA, and the American Association for Justice.
