Overview
Laura Correa-Llorente, Esq. is a passionate and driven family law attorney with a deep commitment to protecting the well-being of children and families at every stage of the legal process. As a first-generation American, first-generation lawyer, and the first in her family to earn a postgraduate degree, Laura’s journey reflects resilience, purpose, and dedication.
Born and raised in Venezuela to a Cuban mother and Spanish father, Laura was immersed in a rich cultural heritage that continues to shape her identity and inform her approach to advocacy. Fluent in English and Spanish, she proudly serves Florida’s multilingual communities with empathy, warmth, and cultural sensitivity.
After immigrating to the United States in 2015, Laura earned her bachelor’s degree in Psychology, with a minor in Criminology, from the University of South Florida, graduating summa cum laude. Drawn to the emotional and psychological dynamics of family relationships, she found in family law the ideal path to combine legal advocacy with a deep understanding of the human experience.
Laura began working full-time as a legal assistant in family law in 2019 and enrolled at Stetson University College of Law in 2020, attending part-time in the evenings while continuing her professional work. She graduated in the top ten percent of her class, bringing with her five years of hands-on family law experience that continues to shape her effectiveness and perspective as an advocate.
In recognition of her outstanding performance on the Florida Bar Exam, Laura was invited by the Chief Judge of Florida’s Second District Court of Appeal to speak at the Florida Bar Induction Ceremony—an honor reflecting both her academic excellence and professional dedication.
Today, Laura is an associate attorney at Koster Legal, where she focuses exclusively on marital and family law matters. Known for her meticulous preparation, steady courtroom presence, and client-centered approach, she advocates with both strength and compassion, always prioritizing the best interests of children and families.
Laura is also a member of the Stann Givens Family Law American Inn of Court, where she actively engages in continued learning and collaboration to remain at the forefront of developments in family law.
Outside of her legal practice, Laura is a lifelong musician who studied classical guitar at a music academy in Venezuela. She enjoys traveling with her wife, exploring new cultures, and embracing diversity—both personally and professionally.

How do I choose a lawyer?
Consider the following:
- Comfort Level – Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
- Credentials – How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
- Cost – How are the lawyer's fees structured — hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
- City – Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?
Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?
Here are a few to get you started:
- How long have you been in practice?
- How many cases like mine have you handled?
- How often do you settle cases out of court?
- What are your fees and costs?
- What are the next steps?
Want to check lawyer discipline?
It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:
- Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
- Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
- Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
