Overview

Mr. Marlowe is the founding shareholder of Marlowe Law, an A+ rated business with the Better Business Bureau. He is a business lawyer with over 40 years of experience, concentrating on mergers, acquisitions, and divestitures. He has extensive past experience in complex business litigation, business disputes, general business law, and personal injury litigation. He has been a shareholder, equity partner, or senior trial counsel at prestigious Florida and national firms such as Fowler White Burnett (7 years), Arnstein & Lehr (now Saul Ewing Arnstein & Lehr) (9+ years), and others. He has been rated Preeminent® (the highest possible rating) by judges and peers on Martindale-Hubbell since 1995 and has an AVVO rating of 10 (out of 10). Mr. Marlowe's Preeminent® rating is a testament to the fact that his peers rank him at the highest level of professional excellence and deem him to have very high professional ethics and preeminent legal ability. Only lawyers with the highest ethical standards and professional ability receive a Martindale-Hubbell Peer Review Rating of "AV." Mr. Marlowe has maintained that rating every year since it was initially awarded to him in 1995.

In addition to his experience in contract drafting and review as part of his mergers and acquisitions and business law practice, Mr. Marlowe's extensive past experience handling negligence, contract, business & commercial, warranty, indemnity, employment, fraud, defamation & privacy, intentional tort, physical tort, real property, construction, lien, and debt collection cases provides him with insights most pure business lawyers lack. He is also a Florida Supreme Court Approved Arbitrator.

Mr. Marlowe is a graduate of the University of Florida Levin College of Law where he was a member and editor of the University of Florida Law Review.

Mr. Marlowe, a computer programmer in the 1970s (remember COBOL?) and a former computer store owner, embraces technology in the practice of law as well as alternative fee agreements.

Your Profile?  Update Now

When viewing a listing, consider the state advertising restrictions to which lawyers and law firms must adhere, as well as our FindLaw.com Legal Directory disclaimer. Some lawyers publish comparative information regarding the services that they provide which may be subject to specific comparative communications restrictions.

How do I choose a lawyer?

Consider the following:

  • Comfort Level – Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
  • Credentials – How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
  • Cost – How are the lawyer's fees structured — hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
  • City – Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?

Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?

Here are a few to get you started:

  • How long have you been in practice?
  • How many cases like mine have you handled?
  • How often do you settle cases out of court?
  • What are your fees and costs?
  • What are the next steps?

Want to check lawyer discipline?

It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:

  • Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
  • Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
  • Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
