Overview
Stacy Ortiz joined Morgan & Morgan in 2017 with fifteen years of workers' compensation experience.
Ms. Ortiz was born in the Bronx, New York but spent her childhood through her college years in Tampa, FL. In 1998, she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree with high honors from University of South Florida (USF) and was one of the first recipients of the USF Latino Scholarship. She then earned her law degree from the University of Florida in 2002.
Following law school, she joined a defense firm in West Palm Beach, FL where she defended self-insured employers and served as lead counsel for various companies; she practiced for the defense bar for more than ten years.
In 2013, Ms. Ortiz relocated back to the Tampa Bay Area where she began exclusively representing injured workers. Her defense background provides a unique foundation to her practice as she knows how the employers and insurance companies approach worker's compensation claims. Ms. Ortiz is dedicated to assisting injured workers in obtaining the benefits they are entitled to and deserve.
She is a member of the Florida Bar's Workers' Compensation section, Florida Workers' Advocates (FWA), Inns of Court, and is certified by the Supreme Court of Florida as a circuit mediator.
She is fluent in both English and Spanish.
