Verified ClientHired Attorney 2025I cannot say enough great things about my attorney, Scott Skier. From the very beginning, he was professional, responsive, and truly invested in my case. What stood out most was not only his deep knowledge of the law but also his ability to explain everything to me clearly so I always felt informed and confident about the process. Scott fought hard on my behalf and treated me with respect every step of the way. He was straightforward, honest, and always available to answer my questions, no matter how small. I never felt like “just another client” — he genuinely cared about the outcome and went above and beyond to achieve the best possible result for me. If you need a lawyer who is sharp, reliable, and truly has your back, Scott Skier is the one you want by your side. I couldn’t have asked for a better attorney and highly recommend him to anyone in need of outstanding legal representation.

Verified ClientHired Attorney 2018-2025"Mr. Skier is an exceptional attorney.", that coming from a federal prosecutor trying to lock me away for life, but thankfully Mr. Skier prevailed in my case when seemingly all odds were against me. This guy is the preverbal magician pulling a rabbit out of his hat at the last minute to save the day when all around me had given up hope. Initially 7 years ago when becoming aware of the federal governments grand jury investigation against me, I sought out the best attorney I could. After a while of research and interviewing lawyers in person I'm glad that I decided upon Mr. Skier. Generally speaking federal attorneys for various reason are expensive as compared to their state counterparts. And Mr. Skier was no exception. However, it was money well well spent as literally my life and freedom was well worth the price. With the legal case dragging on for years I thought Mr. Skier would charge me more money as the years went by, hence inducing more and more work product by him, but not once did Mr. Skier ever ask for more than what he initially charged me. At all times Mr. Skier and as well his law firm were respectful, professional, expertly knowledgeable, kind, and communicated as much and as often as I wished (many will tell you stories of after paying an attorney you can never get a hold of them again, merely receiving blow off canned responses from their staff). Mr. Skier would call me from Court between two cases not related to me just to share a recent development with me or to return my call. Truly amazing now a days. Mr. Skier even traveled with me to multiple Courthouses in other States. And now all this time later, just about a month ago the nightmare finally ended, and although pronounced guilty I was sentenced to only 90 days of probation and a $400. fine when I was facing the equivalent of a life sentence of incarceration, and millions of dollars in fines. I cannot thank Mr. Skier enough, I cannot say enough good things about the man, and I definitely recommend him to any of my friends or family. THANK YOU MR. SKIER !

How do I choose a lawyer?
Consider the following:
- Comfort Level – Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
- Credentials – How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
- Cost – How are the lawyer's fees structured — hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
- City – Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?
Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?
Here are a few to get you started:
- How long have you been in practice?
- How many cases like mine have you handled?
- How often do you settle cases out of court?
- What are your fees and costs?
- What are the next steps?
Want to check lawyer discipline?
It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:
- Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
- Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
- Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
