Patrick was raised in Albany, Georgia until he went to University of Georgia. After earning his undergraduate degree, Patrick received his law degree from the Cumberland School of Law in Birmingham, Alabama. After graduation from law school, Patrick launched his legal career with the Birmingham law firm of Rives & Peterson, where he specialized in commercial litigation. Patrick continued his litigation practice at the boutique firm of Christian & Small, also in Birmingham. In 2002, Patrick moved home to practice law, serving clients in Albany and surrounding southwest Georgia communities. In 2005, Patrick and Charlie Peeler formed Flynn & Peeler. In 2008, Paul Phillips joined the firm to create Flynn, Peeler & Phillips.

Foodborne Illness: $12,000,000 global settlement arising from multiple clients suffering from foodborne illnesses arising from PCA contaminated peanut butter.
- Tractor Trailer collision: $2,500,000 settlement in wrongful death claim arising from semi-truck collision with ambulance.
- Apartment Drowning: $2,500,000 settlement arising from near drowning of apartment complex resident.
- Tractor Automobile Collision: $2,100,000 settlement involving collision between automobile and farm tractor.
- Automobile Collision: $1,500,000 settlement resulting in catastrophic closed head injury, broken ribs, broken shoulder and broken clavicle.
- Tractor Trailer Collision: $750,000 settlement involving neck injuries arising from tractor trailer collision.
- Automobile Collision: $750,000 confidential settlement involving rear end collision resulting in back injuries.
- Automobile Collision: $600,000 confidential settlement for available limits of coverage arising from automobile collision.
- Automobile Collision: $500,000 confidential settlement in automobile collision resulting in catastrophic spinal injuries (the settlement was for an amount ten times the available insurance coverage).
