Hired Attorney 2024-2025I retained this the services of Mr Hein's firm to help evict a tenant. Without my consent, my case was handled by a subordinate named Elizabeth E Colston, a dismally incompetent woman who failed to keep up with court dates and lost my case, purely due to her being an utterly clueless imbecile. I would have been better off handling this myself. When I raised my concerns with Robert P Hein, he was shockingly rude. He then said he had another call coming in, tried to put me on hold, and proceeded to insult me to the person he thought he was speaking to, but in reality he was still speaking to me. Within 30 seconds he insulted me and used racial slurs to demean me and my entire race of people. When he realized he was still actually speaking to me, he hung up the phone like a coward. I phoned back to confront him, he denied his actions and said I had my 'wires crossed up'. This is gaslighting, and it demonstrates how bafflingly despicable he is Avoid Fowler, Hein, Cheatwood & Williams at all costs. Youre better off handling your case yourself

How do I choose a lawyer?
Consider the following:
- Comfort Level – Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
- Credentials – How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
- Cost – How are the lawyer's fees structured — hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
- City – Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?
Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?
Here are a few to get you started:
- How long have you been in practice?
- How many cases like mine have you handled?
- How often do you settle cases out of court?
- What are your fees and costs?
- What are the next steps?
Want to check lawyer discipline?
It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:
- Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
- Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
- Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
