    Hired Law firm 2022-2023
Hurt, underpaid, and facing eviction—this has been my unfortunate experience with the most unresponsive firm I've ever dealt with, seemingly focused solely on getting their money. Here's a detailed list of issues, organized by phase and representative: 1. **Intake:** Initially promised a 28% promotion offer by Guardian Law Group after my accident, but it mysteriously changed to 39% in my records. 2. **Tanisha Pugh - Evidence Building:** While in treatment, I was pushed to end it quickly for negotiations. Promised inclusion of any missed healthcare recommendations in my claim, but this never materialized. Super unresponsive with no customer service, often going days to weeks without a response. Had to threaten switching law firms for better service. 3. **Jacob - Negotiations:** Not the firm for those seeking aggressiveness; they accepted the adjuster's offer, which didn't cover my medical expenses. Post-accident, I'm in pain, jobless, carless, and no one here has shown concern for the secondary issues caused by the accident.

This has been the WORST possible experience ever. I was involved in an accident on 4/1/2022 it is now 7/7/2023 and I have YET to receive my settlement, YET to have my vehicle repaired, and have hardly had any contact since they've taken my case. When I took on this so-called firm to represent me in this case, I was told they would take care of everything within 90 days and it is now going on a year and a half with absolutely no updates or settlement money received. I was contacted in February with the amount that the insurance company agreed to pay and since that date my claim has been transferred to another "case manager" who I have left 5 voicemails for and have yet to speak to at all. This so-called law firm is a complete sham that doesn't deserve to operate and prey on people attempting to collect in personal injury cases. Any positive review that they have online is completely fake. I've already reported them to the Better Business Bureau and I WILL BE REPORTING THEM TO THE GEORGIA STATE BAR, as they should not be licensed to practice in this or any other state. They do not communicate outside of getting you to sign the contract to retain them and promise them 33% of your settlement for doing absolutely nothing. They don't even deserve 1 star.

How do I choose a lawyer?

Consider the following:

  • Comfort Level – Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
  • Credentials – How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
  • Cost – How are the lawyer's fees structured — hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
  • City – Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?

Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?

Here are a few to get you started:

  • How long have you been in practice?
  • How many cases like mine have you handled?
  • How often do you settle cases out of court?
  • What are your fees and costs?
  • What are the next steps?

Want to check lawyer discipline?

It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:

  • Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
  • Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
  • Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
