Kathryn Cozzo Patterson is the Legal Content Counsel at Montlick Injury Attorneys, where she creates, edits, and reviews the firm’s legal content, turning complex legal topics into clear, everyday language. Licensed in Georgia since 1998, she brings more than 25 years of experience in litigation, mediation, and legal education to her work, with a focus on providing reliable information that empowers people to make informed decisions after an injury.

Since joining Montlick in 2025, Kathryn has focused on the firm’s legal resources, from practice-area pages to blog posts, articles, and FAQs. She works to ensure the content reflects current Georgia and federal law and meets the firm’s standards for legal accuracy and compliance. Her role is centered on legal education and content oversight rather than client representation.

Through her prior mediation work, Kathryn developed a close understanding of how personal injury claims are evaluated, contested, and resolved, including the issues and competing positions that shape those claims. She is a Registered Neutral with the Georgia Office of Dispute Resolution and has mediated a broad range of personal injury disputes.

After earning her law degree from Mercer University’s Walter F. George School of Law, Kathryn spent eight years as an Assistant District Attorney in Cobb County, where she served as lead trial counsel in serious felony matters, including homicide, vehicular homicide, armed robbery, fraud, and drug trafficking. Years of courtroom and trial experience sharpened her ability to analyze complex facts, evaluate legal issues, and communicate clearly under pressure.

Legal education has also been a consistent part of Kathryn’s career. As an instructor in Kennesaw State University’s Paralegal Certificate Program, Kathryn developed curriculum and taught Criminal Law and Legal Research & Writing, bringing practical legal experience into the classroom. She also supervised law students practicing under Georgia’s Third Year Practice Act and has mentored young attorneys through local bar association programs.

Kathryn also brings a personal understanding of injury to her work. After a serious car accident in her early twenties, she saw firsthand how long recovery can last and the unexpected challenges that can arise along the way. That experience gives her genuine insight into the questions and concerns people face after an injury, helping her create content that reflects what injured people actually need to know.

A longtime Atlanta-area resident, Kathryn now calls Historic Marietta home. Since 2020, she has served on the executive board of the Marietta Blue Devil Soccer Goal Club, including as President from 2023 to 2025. Outside of work, Kathryn enjoys traveling with her husband and daughter, biking, working to keep flowers alive in her garden, and cheering from the sidelines at soccer matches.
