Katie Newsom - Atlanta, GA

Katherine Hung Newsom is a partner in the Morgan & Morgan Atlanta office. She is committed to defending the rights of all injured workers.

Ms. Newsom grew up in Columbus, Georgia. She received her undergraduate degree in Psychology from Boston College. She earned a Masters of Social Work and her law degree from the University of Georgia.

Her commitment to justice goes back to law school where she dedicated countless hours to the Equal Justice Foundation - a student run organization that raises money to provide summer stipends for law students who choose to work in unpaid, public interest positions. She was the President of EJF during her third year of law school. She also served as the Director of the 1st and 2nd Annual EJF 5K Runs.

After law school, Ms. Newsom worked as a law clerk for the Superior Courts of the Western Judicial Circuit in Athens, Georgia. She then clerked for a State Court Judge in Gwinnett County. Following her clerkships, she moved to Atlanta to work for an insurance defense firm.

After several years representing insurers and employers, she left insurance defense to represent injured workers. She has represented injured workers exclusively since 2005. Ms. Newsom's background in psychology and social work, combined with her past insurance defense work, inform her perspective and approach to representing injured workers in Georgia.

She lives in Atlanta with her husband, Sedgie, and their rescue dog, Max. She is proud to be a member of the Morgan & Morgan team.
