Blending over a decade of legal experience with a deep sense of empathy and purpose, Paula brings both expertise and heart to every case she handles. Licensed to practice law in Georgia since 2014, she joined Montlick in 2023 and is known for her meticulous legal analysis, strategic thinking, and unwavering dedication to helping injured workers regain stability and confidence after workplace injuries. Paula approaches every matter with the belief that effective advocacy requires not only knowledge of the law, but also listening, understanding, and earning her clients’ trust through integrity and action.

Before joining Montlick, Paula spent eight years practicing immigration law, where she advocated for individuals and families navigating complex federal immigration systems. Her work before immigration courts and agencies honed her ability to analyze intricate legal issues, develop creative solutions, and guide clients through emotionally challenging situations. These skills now strengthen her advocacy on behalf of injured workers. Transitioning into workers’ compensation law was a natural step for Paula, who wanted to continue using her legal expertise to help people overcome hardship and move toward a more secure future. She finds meaningful purpose in helping injured workers through difficult times and reminding them that there is a bright future ahead.

At Montlick, Paula represents injured workers across Georgia, helping them obtain medical care, income benefits, and fair treatment after workplace injuries. She is known for her steady guidance, detailed case preparation, and ability to bring clarity to even the most complex matters. One of her most rewarding professional moments came when she helped overturn a denied claim and improper termination – securing treatment, financial relief, and peace of mind for a client who had nearly given up hope.

Paula earned her law degree from Florida Coastal School of Law, where she was recognized as a Pro Bono Honors Student for contributing more than 150 hours of pro bono legal service. Prior to her legal studies, she received her undergraduate degree at Kennesaw State University.

Born in Cartagena, Colombia, Paula was inspired by her parents’ military service and their example of respect, discipline, and service to others. Those values continue to guide her work every day. A native Spanish speaker, she is proud to make quality legal representation accessible to Georgia’s Spanish-speaking community.

Paula is active in her community, and her dedication to service runs parallel to her legal practice. She serves as a board member and board secretary for William’s House, a nonprofit focused on empowering fathers in recovery who are experiencing homelessness or situational poverty. She also serves as the Co-Chair of Kid’s Chance of Georgia, which provides educational opportunities for the children of workers who have been seriously injured or lost their lives on the job.

Paula has called Georgia home since 2006 and lives in Marietta with her husband, Paul, and their two dogs, Estelle and Bodhi. When not fighting for the rights of injured people, Paula enjoys working out and volunteers at Atlanta’s Lifeline Animal Project, where she enjoys giving TLC and belly rubs to shelter dogs in need and taking them out for long walks. For Paula, the true measure of success as an attorney lies not only in winning cases, but in the lives changed along the way.
