Ms. Whitehead earned her Juris Doctorate from the Tulane University School of Law, where she served as Managing Editor of the Tulane Law Review. She obtained her Bachelor of Arts in Journalism and Mass Communication from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
Ms. Whitehead was born and raised in Estill, South Carolina. She is married to David C. Whitehead, M.D., and they have two daughters.
