Attorney Information

Overview

Nick Jackson grew up in Phenix City, Alabama, and earned his undergraduate degree from Auburn University before attending Samford University’s Cumberland School of Law. He graduated as one of the youngest members of his class, receiving his Juris Doctor cum laude and ranking in the top 7%.

Nick represents plaintiffs and defendants across industries in complex, high stakes trial and appellate litigation. Nick regularly serves as lead counsel in wrongful death actions, particularly those involving negligent security and construction defect allegations.

Nick also practices in the areas of multidistrict litigation, class action litigation, mass torts, and personal injury. Nick has played a key role in significant data breach class actions in Georgia history and successfully argued on behalf of over 497,000 class members in a landmark data breach case that is frequently cited for its foreseeability analysis.

Nick is currently leading one of the largest mass litigation campaigns in Georgia history alongside consumer advocate, Erin Brockovich, where he represents hundreds of individuals, businesses, municipalities, and counties across the State in claims involving environmental contamination stemming from carpet manufacturing.

Nick prides his practice on being results driven and uses a “business” approach in all of his cases. Nick attributes his business acumen to his grandmother who grew a small staffing agency in Columbus, Georgia into one of the nation’s largest female-owned employment agencies.

Nick is a lifetime member of the Auburn Alumni Association. When he is not working, Nick enjoys spending time with his family, watching Auburn football and basketball, duck hunting, and fishing at his family’s farm in rural Southwest Georgia. Nick also loves Alabama history and is the creator of a former exhibit at the National World War II Museum in New Orleans, Louisiana. Nick’s exhibit highlighted the roles of women and African Americans in Alabama’s contributions to the war effort.

When viewing a listing, consider the state advertising restrictions to which lawyers and law firms must adhere, as well as our FindLaw.com Legal Directory disclaimer. Some lawyers publish comparative information regarding the services that they provide which may be subject to specific comparative communications restrictions.

How do I choose a lawyer?

Consider the following:

  • Comfort Level – Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
  • Credentials – How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
  • Cost – How are the lawyer's fees structured — hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
  • City – Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?

Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?

Here are a few to get you started:

  • How long have you been in practice?
  • How many cases like mine have you handled?
  • How often do you settle cases out of court?
  • What are your fees and costs?
  • What are the next steps?

Want to check lawyer discipline?

It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:

  • Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
  • Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
  • Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
