David believes practicing law is about helping people navigate real-life challenges. It’s an honor and privilege to step in and help clients when they need you most.

David has been practicing law in Northeast Georgia for over 15 years. He is the son of an accomplished trial lawyer, and he knew from an early age the value of hard work and the responsibility of pursuing justice. David began his legal career in Gainesville and became a partner at one of the oldest and most well-respected law firms in Georgia, Whelchel, Dunlap, Jarrard & Walker, where he had the privilege of working alongside some of the finest trial lawyers in the State. In 2015, David served as President of the local Bar Association, a group of over 200 lawyers and judges from the area.

Over the course of his career, David has gained a tremendous amount of experience and skill in handling many types of trial work. He has a unique perspective and advantage for understanding the real strengths of his cases. David was thrilled to join Cathey & Strain, LLC in 2023. He knew it was an opportunity to join forces with a group of great men who also happen to be incredible trial lawyers. Today, David’s practice is 100% devoted to representing Plaintiffs in serious personal injury and wrongful death cases.
