Hired Law firm 2025Before you hire a lawyer please do your necessary research on them, also research the judge as well. Long and behold my suspicion was correct. Attorney Johnson deliberately didn't care about my case because she has a close relationship with judge and opposing party. Attorney Johnson give money to Judge Hydrick during her Campaigns for endorsement. Thus if you have judge Hydrick on your case go to her website and make sure you don't hire any attorney she has endorsement. Do yourself a favor and save your money. All the attorney she endorsed won't fight your case. Attorney Johnson was talking about having Dinner with her Husband Hank Johnson right after making me lose custody of my child for no reason as there was literally no evidence as to why I shouldn't have my child. Matter of fact is the father who has been abusing the child and they give him custody over me. She also advised me not to bring up the father sleeping with other man during my case. Adultery is a way to lose custody completely. I do not recommend them at all. Terrible law firm!!

Hired Law firm 2019Genet Hopewell and Duane Jones are the most unethical attorneys I have ever encountered. Ms. Hopewell referred me to Duane Jones, who basically took my money and ignored me for months and never provided the requested service after my repeated requests, until I just relieved him of his duties. I have requested a refund. I feel entitled to a refund after the shady service I have received from these attorneys.

How do I choose a lawyer?
Consider the following:
- Comfort Level – Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
- Credentials – How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
- Cost – How are the lawyer's fees structured — hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
- City – Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?
Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?
Here are a few to get you started:
- How long have you been in practice?
- How many cases like mine have you handled?
- How often do you settle cases out of court?
- What are your fees and costs?
- What are the next steps?
Want to check lawyer discipline?
It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:
- Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
- Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
- Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
