Get to Know Attorney Jayla Cooley — Committed. Skilled. On Your Side.
Jayla Cooley is a dedicated trial attorney and first-generation college graduate with a Bachelor of Arts in International Studies from Texas State University. A native of Houston, Texas, she moved to Atlanta to earn her law degree from Atlanta’s John Marshall Law School, where she was actively involved in advocacy and leadership. While in law school, she competed on the Moot Court Trial Advocacy Team and served as Vice President of the Sports & Entertainment Law Association.
Jayla began her legal career as an Associate Attorney at the Law Offices of Martin & Associates, where she focused on personal injury litigation. There, she developed a strong reputation for fighting to obtain full and fair compensation for injured clients.
Today, Jayla manages her own practice while co-counseling with respected attorneys across Georgia. She is committed to building a law firm grounded in empathy, integrity, and results. “My goal is to grow a practice that puts people first. Clients deserve to be heard, respected, and fiercely represented,” she says.
Jayla is a proud member of several professional organizations, including the Georgia Trial Lawyers Association (GTLA), the Georgia Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers (GACDL), and the American Association for Justice (AAJ). These memberships help her stay current on the law and strengthen her ability to resolve complex cases efficiently and effectively.
When she’s not in the courtroom, Jayla enjoys traveling, cooking global cuisines, and spending time outdoors with her dogs. She also gives back through community initiatives and enjoys mentoring young professionals entering the legal field.

How do I choose a lawyer?
Consider the following:
- Comfort Level – Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
- Credentials – How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
- Cost – How are the lawyer's fees structured — hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
- City – Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?
Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?
Here are a few to get you started:
- How long have you been in practice?
- How many cases like mine have you handled?
- How often do you settle cases out of court?
- What are your fees and costs?
- What are the next steps?
Want to check lawyer discipline?
It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:
- Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
- Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
- Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
