Hired Law firm 2021-2022If you want to make sure your children survive a custody battle DO NOT HIRE ALEX DIXON. My 18 year old son committed suicide after his father took him and filed for custody AFTER his 18th birthday. Alex took $2,500 from me and did nothing while seeing all the evidence of the volatile situation my ex started. Alex let the other attorney threaten me. The other attorney took a deposition from my DISABLED child and my final divorce papers stated the ex had to make an attempt to fix things before taking any court action. NO ONE listened to me about my son! Instead they let him kill himself in the 7 months my ex husband had him. They took him away from HIS doctors, his family and his friends. Alex is too busy being a city attorney for West Point, Lagrange and Hogansville to care about any family!

Hired Law firm 2019-2020Alex has poor communication skills. He will ignore messages, calls and emails for MONTHS at a time even though you paid for him to do a job. Would not recommend under any circumstances.

How do I choose a lawyer?
Consider the following:
- Comfort Level – Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
- Credentials – How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
- Cost – How are the lawyer's fees structured — hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
- City – Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?
Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?
Here are a few to get you started:
- How long have you been in practice?
- How many cases like mine have you handled?
- How often do you settle cases out of court?
- What are your fees and costs?
- What are the next steps?
Want to check lawyer discipline?
It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:
- Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
- Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
- Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
