    Recommends this Attorney
What can I say, except thank you Lyle from the bottom of my heart! I would recommend him in a second to anyone seeking legal counsel. He showed me what an attorney really is supposed to be. I've had a few attorneys in the past that were paid and appointed and never had I ever recieved the excellence of a attorney like I recieved from him. When I didn't think there was a way for a good outcome he found it. He did his research and found a way. I'm beyond grateful for his hard work and dedication with my case. If I'm ever back in GA and need a attorney I wouldn't hesitate for a second to call Lyle Porter cause in my eyes he is THE BEST! Again thank you Lyle for everything u did for me and my case. And I have to also mention his excellent assistant Chelsea who stayed on top of things and she kept me in the know. If he was ever in court and I couldn't get in contact with him on the phone she helped to ease my anxiety and got me the answers I needed until I could speak to him directly. So thank you Chelsea. I give you both 5 stars. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Lyle Porter The best attorney I've ever had. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Chelsea Best legal assistant. Thank you both for everything.

    Hired Attorney 2020
This attorney was kind enough to speak with me several time prior to being retained. But, communication was lacking once officially retained. I could not get him on the phone, his assistant did not acknowledge emails on timely matters because she didn't know what to say. After playing phone tag for days, I asked for a calendar appointment. He simply did not call and I received no courtesy email/call/text. I asked for my retainer back due to the lack of progress, which triggered an apology. I decided to proceeded with his services. But, the lack of communication continued. On a separate case, he suggested calling the Plaintiff's attorney regarding having fees waived, which I had been ordered to pay after a 9/28/2020 hearing; I had never been served on this case. After considerable time and attempts to see where we stood, on 11/22/2020 it was clear that it was going nowhere and our time to appeal (or take another action) was running out. Because I wanted to know about the cases, he simply said for his assistant to withdraw as my attorney, and I wrote a termination letter. His response was to send me an invoice for half my retainer and to say he was billing for the work he did, which was mostly receiving and filing my emails to them. He was not interested in discussing the matter and felt that reviews and calling the Bar were threats that he did not need to concern himself with. Obviously, this is my opinion and review, only, so take it for what it is worth.

How do I choose a lawyer?

Consider the following:

  • Comfort Level – Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
  • Credentials – How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
  • Cost – How are the lawyer's fees structured — hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
  • City – Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?

Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?

Here are a few to get you started:

  • How long have you been in practice?
  • How many cases like mine have you handled?
  • How often do you settle cases out of court?
  • What are your fees and costs?
  • What are the next steps?

Want to check lawyer discipline?

It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:

  • Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
  • Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
  • Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
