Overview
Albert P. Reichert Jr. is a partner at Anderson, Walker & Reichert, LLP, in Macon, Georgia. While growing up in Macon, Georgia, he attended both Joseph Clisby Elementary and Lanier High School. His senior class elected him president. There, he excelled academically and was elected president of the Emory Glee Club and Phi Beta Kappa. He served as Vice President of the Harvard Journal on Legislation while earning his law degree from Harvard. After finishing law school in 1964, he proceeded to work at Anderson, Walker, and Reichert, LLP.
Mr. Reichert focuses his practice on taxation, corporate and business law, and estate planning and administration. He chaired the State Bar of Georgia's Commission on Continuing Lawyer Competency, as well as its Fiduciary Law and Tax Sections. He has participated in the revision of the code in the areas of trust law, probate, and guardianship. Over the course of several years, these committees met once each month, finally leading to the adoption of new trust, probate and guardianship codes by the Georgia General Assembly.
Mr. Reichert has been accepted as a Fellow of the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel, an organization of lawyers and law academics who are experts in the areas of wills and trusts, estate planning, probate procedure, and the administration of trusts and estates. He also has the distinction of being a Fellow in the American College of Tax Counsel. He has been included in the list of The Best Lawyers in America.
In addition to his career as an attorney, Mr. Reichert has also been involved in the Boy Scouts, holding the positions of Scoutmaster and President of the Central Georgia Council. He has also served as the church's chair of the finance committee and as a member of the choir. The Macon Rotary Club president and the District 6920 governor are just two of his many Rotary International positions. He was on the board of the Community Foundation of Central Georgia, Inc. from its inception. He is the Community Foundation's legal adviser.
