Overview
Kate Dodson Strain has extensive experience providing corporate and individual clients with the requisite protection of their intellectual property including the preparation and prosecution of trademark and copyright applications. Ms. Strain also has experience in litigating infringement of intellectual property and disputes regarding the ownership of trademarks and copyrights.
Before joining Belzer PC, Ms. Strain worked for Hunter, Maclean, Exley & Dunn, P.C. in Savannah where she headed the Intellectual Property group. Prior to forming Belzer PC, Nathan Belzer, founder of Belzer PC, trained Ms. Strain at Hunter Maclean. Ms. Strain is a member of the Intellectual Property section of the State Bar of Georgia. She is admitted to practice in all three federal districts in Georgia.
Ms. Strain graduated Phi Beta Kappa and Magna Cum Laude from the University of Georgia's Honors program. After teaching English for five years at Stratford Academy in Macon, she entered law school. She attended Tulane Law School for her first year. Ms. Strain then returned to the University of Georgia for her second two years of law school graduating Cum Laude in 2003.
Kate has recently launched a blog on the basic trademark law for businesses.

- Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
- Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
- Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
