Overview

Nathan C. Belzer has experience in preparing and prosecuting copyright and trademark applications, drafting and negotiating patent, copyright and trademark licenses and assignments, and litigating disputes involving claims for trademark and copyright infringement, unfair competition and misappropriation of trade secrets. He also has experience in drafting and negotiating agreements for transactions involving computers, software, information systems, and e-commerce.

Before forming Belzer PC, Mr. Belzer worked for Hunter, Maclean, Exley & Dunn, P.C. where he managed the Intellectual Property group. Before that, he worked in the Houston office of Locke, Liddell & Sapp LLP where he was a member of the Intellectual Property and Technology and Commercial Transactions sections. Mr. Belzer is a member of the State Bar of Georgia and the Texas State Bar. In addition, Mr. Belzer is admitted to practice in the United States District Court for the Southern District of Texas.

Mr. Belzer graduated from Colgate University in 1993 with a B.A., cum laude, in Political Science. He received his J.D., with distinction, from Emory University School of Law in 1998. During law school, Mr. Belzer served as a Notes & Comments Editor for the Emory Law Journal, and was a Dean’s Fellow. He was also the recipient of the Class of 1967 Scholarship.
