Alan Y. Okamoto - Honolulu, HI

Mr. Okamoto grew up in Waipahu, where he attended public school through high school. He received his undergraduate degree in Political Science from the University of Hawai‘i at Mānoa in 2001, and his Juris Doctor from the University of Hawai‘i William S. Richardson School of Law in 2005. Following his graduation from law school, Mr. Okamoto served as law clerk to Circuit Court Judge Steven S. Alm (Ret.).

After devoting five years to attending to family matters, Mr. Okamoto began his career in 2013 as a solo practitioner specializing in criminal defense, personal injury, and family law.

In 2021, Mr. Okamoto decided to focus exclusively on family law and joined the law firm of Kleintop & Luria, LLP. While at Kleintop & Luria, he specialized in complex divorce litigation.

Mr. Okamoto joined Greg Ryan and Associates in 2025 as a skilled practitioner in all aspects of family law. He is a zealous advocate and takes pride in providing effective and efficient representation to all clients. He excels at balancing a client’s needs with legal strategy to achieve the best possible outcome for his clients.

Mr. Okamoto is also committed to giving back to the community, and serves as a volunteer with the Kapolei Access to Justice Room.

Mr. Okamoto is licensed to practice law in the State of Hawai‘i, the United States District Court for the District of Hawai‘i, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit. Mr. Okamoto is also a member of the Family Law Section of the Hawai‘i State Bar Association.
