Overview
Micky Yamatani, who was born and raised in Tokyo, Japan, has been practicing law in Hawaii since 1990. A graduate of Punahou School and the William S. Richardson School of Law, Ms. Yamatani has worked as a Prosecuting Attorney on Maui, litigating domestic violence cases, as well as a Prosecuting Attorney in Honolulu, representing the State of Hawaii in domestic abuse jury trials. Ms. Yamatani has spent the last 20 years in the private sector, representing clients in divorce and family law matters, lecturing on legal topics such as international child abduction and recovery, jury trials, and rules of evidence, among others. She has authored numerous articles on multi-national divorce and custody issues. In both Japanese and Hawaii Courts, Ms. Yamatani has been designated as an expert in multi-national divorces, and she recently authored a chapter in a Japanese law textbook on Hawaii domestic legal issues. A Senior Family Law Attorney with our firm, Ms. Yamatani is our lead attorney for family law matters on the outer Islands.
