Attorney Information

Overview

Attorney Shane Hampton is a partner at Simmons Hanly Conroy. Shane dedicates his practice to representing victims of mesothelioma, lung cancer, and other asbestos-related diseases. Since joining the firm in 2005, Shane has helped bring justice to thousands of families devastated by asbestos cancer and diseases. Shane has recovered hundreds of millions of dollars in verdicts and settlements for those families, whose cases have been filed and prosecuted in dozens of states and counties throughout the United States. From 2018 to 2022, Shane was a member of trial teams that obtained six different mesothelioma verdicts totaling over $100 million.

With over 20 years of litigation and courtroom experience involving personal injury and asbestos cases, Shane helps develop and coordinate the legal strategy for the firm's asbestos cases. Shane works with teams during the early stages of the lawsuit, including the discovery process and defendant liability, and he oversees the firm's resources and witnesses as the cases are prepared for and eventually litigated at trial. Shane also manages the firm's asbestos medical department, focusing on records and pathology materials acquisition, and both diagnosis and causation of asbestos diseases.

Prior to joining the firm in 2005, Shane practiced as a civil litigation attorney predominantly in St. Louis, Mo., and Madison and St. Clair counties in Illinois. His litigation background includes personal injury, automotive and trucking accidents, product liability, premises liability, medical malpractice, business litigation, and environmental and toxic torts.

Shane is licensed to practice law in Illinois and Missouri and works as co-counsel on cases filed throughout the country.
