Overview

Mary Pat Donohue began her legal career as an Assistant State’s Attorney with the Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office. While assigned to the Criminal Appeals Division, she argued appeals pertaining to felony convictions before the Illinois Supreme Court and the Illinois Appellate Court. She was also assigned to the Third Municipal District in Rolling Meadows where she had tried both bench and jury trials for misdemeanor and traffic cases.

After leaving the Cook County State's Attorneys Office, Mary Pat practiced workers compensation defense for the law departments of both Travelers Insurance and the Hartford Insurance Company. She has extensive experience in both arbitration and appeals at the Illinois Workers Compensation Commission. She has also argued cases in the Circuit Court of Cook County and the Illinois Appellate Court, the Workers Compensation Division. Mary Pat now dedicates her skills to helping those that were injured at work.

Mary Pat graduated magna cum laude from St. Mary’s College of Notre Dame, Indiana. She received her law degree from Loyola University of Chicago School of Law. During law school, Mary Pat served as an extern for the Honorable Paul E. Plunkett, Judge of the United States District Court of the Northern District of Illinois.

In her free time, Mary Pat has served as a School Board Secretary for her local school and as a Legislative Advisory Board Member for the Archdiocese of Chicago Office of Catholic Education.
