strongly advise against engaging with Matthew, and Haytham Faraj law firm . whom I believe operate deceitfully and exploitatively. In my experience, they misrepresented themselves as advocates for the injured, yet demonstrated a lack of commitment to my case's integrity and my well-being post-accident. They settled my case prematurely without regard for my interests, using coercive tactics during the signing of legal documents. As a result, my legal rights were compromised. I have taken formal steps to address these grievances and seek restitution. I caution others seeking legal redress to avoid these individuals, whose conduct suggests a disregard for the sanctity of legal protections and the rights of their clients.

My interaction with Mr. Matthew, a student of Mr. Haytham Faraj, began under dire circumstances that severely impacted my well-being without recovery. I share this as a cautionary tale to prevent others from enduring similar hardships. After an Uber accident, I sustained severe injuries necessitating multiple surgeries. Unlike my brother, who swiftly settled with Uber, I declined due to ongoing medical needs. In early 2022, Mr. Matthew, under Mr. Haytham Faraj's supervision, handled my case poorly, disregarding my medical complexities and pressuring me to settle under threat of withdrawal, compromising my legal and medical care. Additionally, they inflated my medical bills unjustly. I filed a formal complaint against these practices for their unethical conduct. I advise against engaging Mr. Matthew and Mr. Haytham Faraj due to their legal negligence and failure to respect my rights.

How do I choose a lawyer?

Consider the following:

  • Comfort Level – Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
  • Credentials – How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
  • Cost – How are the lawyer's fees structured — hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
  • City – Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?

Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?

Here are a few to get you started:

  • How long have you been in practice?
  • How many cases like mine have you handled?
  • How often do you settle cases out of court?
  • What are your fees and costs?
  • What are the next steps?

Want to check lawyer discipline?

It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:

  • Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
  • Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
  • Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
