Overview
Barry D. Sheppard has been practicing criminal defense law for over 40 years. He began his career as a public defender in 1976 where he developed a penchant for "taking on the long shot." He has won acquittals for clients charged with every type of offense ranging from Homicides to Frauds to the most serious sex offense cases.
Mr. Sheppard has extensive trial experience with "cutting edge" legal issues including DNA forensic science and internet sex solicitation cases. His practice has taken him to courts throughout the country (Illinois, California, Wisconsin, Arizona, New Mexico, Michigan, Iowa, Indiana, and Florida) as well as abroad (New Zealand). He is a member of the federal trial bar and admitted to practice before the U.S. Supreme Court, the Seventh Circuit Court of appeals, and other jurisdictions.
